Trail Overview
This is a wide, gravel-based forest road. The trail begins on private cattle property and is a right-of-way road into the National Forest, as well as the main route to Lake Billy Chinook and the Cove of the Palisades State Park. The trail is bumpy with washboard and has multiple switchbacks. but is suitable for any vehicle type. The trail has many split-off trails, and once you cross the boundary of the National Forest, camping is allowed, and you will have a view of the ridges around you, including Akawa Butte. Cell phone service is weak but enough to send a message or place a call in some places, and there are no amenities. The nearest services and supplies are located in Sisters, approximately 20 minutes from the beginning of this trail.

Easy, gravel based road that is wide and leads you into the National Forest. The trail has multiple switchbacks and can be bumpy from washboard, but is suitable for any vehicle type.
