Trail Overview

This short but beautiful trail offers a majestic drive through the forest as it climbs steadily up a steep incline. The route climbs for an extended stretch before leveling out, then passes through several muddy areas that require extra caution. After the muddy sections, the trail climbs again before reaching a clearing at the end of the main drive. The clearing provides enough space for camping, making it a possible spot to stay while exploring the area. The trail technically continues beyond the clearing, but the route becomes increasingly overgrown. Continuing on foot may be a better option, particularly for hunters looking to explore farther beyond the clearing. Due to the steep climbs and descents, low range or 4x4 is required to navigate this trail safely. Take care through the muddy sections and use appropriate gearing for the steep terrain. This area is open year-round on gravel roads. However, travel on dirt roads is restricted during wet conditions, which typically occur from October 1 through June 1. OHV use is prohibited where vegetation is present on the road during fire season, typically June through October. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
