Trail Overview
Sunset Drive is a well-maintained, two-lane-wide gravel trail that provides users with an entrance into the local Boiling Spring Lakes Preserve trail network. The trail is free from major obstacles and technical challenges, making it suitable for most vehicles under normal conditions. Its wide roadway and smooth gravel surface allow for a comfortable pace, with opportunities to pick up the speed where conditions and visibility permit. Users traveling in groups should be especially mindful of dust, as dry conditions can produce significant dust clouds behind vehicles. At times, these clouds can create near whiteout conditions for following drivers, making additional spacing between vehicles important. Overall, Sunset Drive is an easy and enjoyable access route that pairs well with the surrounding coastal trail network.
