Trail Overview

This access road to Pond Mountain Game Land is managed by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. The road is a well-maintained gravel road but it does have multiple sections that are a 12% grade. There are a few campsites along the trail. You'll enjoy some of the best views in western North Carolina, with 360-degree views of the mountain ranges in the distance.

Difficulty

This is a well-maintained gravel road managed by the NC Wildlife Resource Commission. It's a 2/10 due to some areas of the road exceeding a 10% grade. Most areas have enough room for two vehicles to carefully pass. If there is snow, please be advised that the difficulty rating may substantially increase due to the few areas with steep grades.

great ride gravel road all the way that is maintained. it is steep in some spots of the road with loose gravel but it is suitable for most vehicles
