Trail Overview

FS 90 begins off Route 58 near the former Beartree Campground, which remains closed due to damage from Hurricane Helene. The road serves as an easy access route to the Iron Mountain ADV motorcycle trail system, connecting Spur A and Spur B, while also providing access to FS 615 (Sturgill). The trail is well maintained and consists of a mix of gravel and dirt, making it suitable for most AWD and 4WD vehicles under normal conditions. During wet weather, the clay surface can become slick and may require additional caution. Equestrian traffic is common along this route, so drivers should remain alert and yield when appropriate. FS 90 also provides access to the Bushwhacker Trail, where a small pull-off offers convenient parking for hikers.
