Trail Overview
Located in the northern section of Croatan National Forest, Mill Branch (FS 170) stretches approximately 2.9 miles between County Line Road and Farrior Farm (FS 121A). Recent grading and bulldozing have significantly improved the road surface, eliminating rough patches and large rocks randomly scattered throughout the road. Along the route, two crossing areas where Brice Creek feeds into Black Branch produce valuable wetland habitats where wading birds, reptiles, amphibians, and other native species can be heard or seen along the trail. This section is rich for its scenic beauty and a photographer's paradise to capture what mother nature has to offer.

Free of any obstructions or downed trees, a wide range of vehicles, anywhere from 2WD to 4WD, can access this route, which provides a convenient and reliable way to explore the surrounding forest while enjoying a comfortable drive through the natural landscape.
