Trail Overview

Mickens Branch is an easy, well-graded gravel road (1/10) that drops down to the shore of Hiwassee Lake on Tennessee Valley Authority public land near Murphy, North Carolina. At the bottom, you'll find free rustic campsites right beside the water and a boat ramp. You will need to be self-sufficient to camp, since there are no developed facilities on site. Bring your fishing gear for bass, walleye, and crappie fishing to round out the experience.
