Trail Overview

Lillington Lane is an out-and-back trail consisting primarily of hard-packed silty sand and is approximately two lanes wide throughout most of the route. The trail is generally free from major obstacles and should be suitable for most vehicles under normal conditions. Users should expect sections of washboard-style bumps along the way, which can make the otherwise easy drive somewhat rough depending on speed and current trail conditions. Maps may make it appear that Lillington Lane continues through and connects with the nearby game lands; however, a closed gate is present near the back of the trail, preventing vehicles from continuing farther. Users should plan to turn around at the closure and return the same way they entered. Overall, Lillington Lane offers a straightforward coastal drive with relatively easy terrain.
