Trail Overview

Coming up onto the trail off of Globe Mountain Road, you will arrive at Frankum Creek - FS 188. Overgrown vegetation covers both sides of the gravel road from beginning to end but is tolerable. During rainy months, some parts of the road can become muddy and rut out which may make it difficult to 2WD base vehicles. Upon reaching the end, two spots can house overnight camping or daily parking to access Frankum Creek which is located through the woods. A system of mountain bike trails connect to Frankum Creek Road that can be used to explore the upper portion of the Pisgah National Forest that lead to Georges Creek Road.

Difficulty

Trail is narrow but manageable by vehicles from 2WD to 4WD. Certain spots can be muddy and become uneven due to heavy rainfall. Summer months can lead to overgrown vegetation and tree limbs which can obstruct some sections of the road which may cause pin striping.
