Cold Springs Gap - FS 421A

Cold Springs Gap (FS 421A) is a 1.1-mile out-and-back route that follows a generously sized single-lane gravel road through heavily forested terrain. The road is well maintained and rated easy, providing a smooth driving surface with uncomplicated travel from beginning to end. Well-formed vegetation lining the road contributes to the pleasant character of the drive while maintaining the enclosed forest setting. A loop at the end of the route, along with some adjacent open space, provides a convenient location to turn around, and there is a possible campsite nearby. Access is restricted to highway-legal vehicles only, and the route is generally open from March 15 through December 31.
