Trail Overview
This is an unmarked dirt bike trail that parallels FS Road 144 for 2 miles. The south end starts along a fence line near lots of dispersed campsites and enters a dry forest of ponderosa pines, and the entrance is hard to find without an offline map. It weaves through skinny aspen trees and becomes rocky right away, with lots of embedded big football-sized rocks in the path. The trail constantly traverses up and over the rolling hills, with several short and steep climbs and descents. There are several more rocky sections, like small rock gardens. The track is faint and hard to follow without a gpx track. At times, it pops out of the trees onto what looks more like a road, then narrows up again into singletrack. There are many tight tree sections, but faster, more flowy sections as well that are less rocky. Expect several downed logs that will likely not get cut, as this is not a highly trafficked area. The trail does some mild side hilling and gets deeply rutted at times as well during short, steeper climbs. It ends back on 31 Mile Road after 2 miles.
Difficulty
This is a moderate dirt bike trail due to several small rock gardens, frequent steep and rutted climbs, and the potential for uncut log hazards. It is also faint at times and will require good route-finding skills.
