Trail Overview

Hughes Canyon Road is a scenic Forest Service road located within the Lincoln National Forest. Tucked deep within the forest, this route offers a peaceful drive through towering pines while connecting to several other Forest Service roads in the area. The secluded setting makes it a great trail for exploring the backcountry, and wildlife sightings are common. Keep an eye out for moose, which are frequently seen along this route.

Difficulty

This trail is primarily a well-maintained gravel road with small rocks and gentle elevation changes, making it easy to drive in most conditions. A few sections contain muddy ruts that can become deeper after rainfall and may require slower speeds and careful tire placement.
