Trail Overview

This is a peaceful, easy, beautiful trail that winds through aspen glades, scrub oak, ponderosa pines, and beautiful meadows. The trail is mostly level with gradual climbs and descents. The west end connects with FR 103 and the east end with FR 144. Elk, deer, and black bear are commonly seen on this trail.

History

This trail is part of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR). The GDMBR is a 3,084-mile off-road mountain bike touring route that connects Jasper, Alberta, Canada, and Antelope Well, New Mexico near the Mexico border. The route opened in 1997 and takes the average cyclist six to ten weeks to complete.

Did the East portion from Elk Meadows to Hoodoos. Mostly powdery snow with some dirt patches.
