Trail Overview
Delberts is a challenging single track in the Manzanita Mountain Trail System near Albuquerque, New Mexico that has lots of rock ledges, roots, and shelfy sections of trail. This trail is slightly harder than some of the surrounding trails because it has a bit of exposure as it rides around the rim of a mountainside and it has bigger obstacles. It starts on the east end very tight in the trees on a rocky trail. It isn't as tight in the trees after the intersection with Chamisoso, but continues to have lots of several-foot-high rock ledges. There is one really big one which is a slanted boulder face on the edge of the hillside that is much harder to get up because it's slanted sideways. The west end gets more shelfy again and exposed. The forest gets denser again on the west end as well and is like a tree tunnel at times, and goes past a cool stone wall. The trail only gains and loses 500 feet of elevation over 4.4 miles, so it's mostly flat along the rim of the mesa, but does have some steeper climbs and descents at times.
