Canada del Potrero

Canada del Potrero is an out-and-back trail that is well-maintained overall and suitable for most vehicles. Dispersed camping is permitted along the entire length of the trail and offers several locations with diverse settings and views. While the trail is maintained well, downed trees are significant along the route, with some being lightweight aspens to larger and heavier pines requiring a chainsaw to clear. The trail is narrow and only has a single vehicle width in some areas, but most of the trail provides just enough room to pass traffic if necessary. The trail is cut slightly short by what appears to be a built mound of dirt and a large boulder placed by the USFS to prevent further travel. Cell coverage is weak throughout the trail, as with T-Mobile and Verizon. Still, it does have strong coverage with AT&T. This is one of the few trails in the area that is passenger car-friendly and provides an abundance of dispersed camping opportunities.
