Trail Overview
Truck Trl FSR-123 is a point-to-point trail connecting from the south at FSR-44 to the north at FSR-106 and is primarily softer dirt prone to rutting and mud after rain or snow melt. Rutting averages around 12 inches in depth, with the occasional loose rocks up to 10 inches in size. The trail will be easily traversed by high clearance 2WD vehicles during dry weather and AWD or 4x4 vehicles after rains or snow. The trail is wide enough to pass traffic if needed, with only a few short sections being single-vehicle wide. Downed trees are common in this area, and a chainsaw is recommended as many of them are larger pines and can be substantially heavy. There is no cell coverage in the region with T-Mobile, limited service with Verizon, and moderate to strong service with AT&T. Dispersed camping is permitted along the trail, with an abundance of campsite options from broad open meadows to more secluded spots tucked into the trees.
Difficulty
Trail features some occasional loose rocks up to 10 inches in size, but they are far and few between. Biggest obstacles along the trail is going to be rutting that can be up to 12 inches in depth, short off-camber sections and the potential for mud and mud holes after wet weather or snow.
