Trail Overview

This is an amazing route that circles around both the second Connecticut Lake and Lake Francis and crosses the upper Connecticut river with fly-fishing-only access. There are a few backcountry trout ponds that are walk-in only off the route. The road is a well-maintained logging road with active logging so be aware.

Took the trail from E -> W on the way down to Dixville Notch. Damp dirt/gravel road. Nothing challenging from a 4x4 POV but nice to get away from the busier roads. Great to see the fall colours and plenty of class V roads nearby to link up with.
