Trail Overview
This scenic connector trail cuts through the mountains, offering a varied landscape that transitions from lower tree-lined areas to elevated ridgelines covered in sagebrush and manzanita. As the trail climbs, it rewards drivers with spectacular, 360-degree panoramic views at the top, featuring Green Mountain to the north, Pearl Peak to the south, and the sprawling Ruby Mountains all around. For those who want to cut their off-road trip short, a convenient exit point back onto the main paved road is about halfway through the route. This area is an active open range. You will likely encounter cows on the road, so drive with caution. Always practice proper gate etiquette: leave any gates exactly as you found them. There is absolutely zero cell phone service on this trail. Download offline maps before heading into this area.
