Trail Overview
Hidden Canyon is a short, highly technical trail within the Logandale Trail System designed for experienced offroaders seeking a challenging rock-crawling adventure surrounded by stunning red sandstone formations. Spanning just over one-third of a mile, this route demands high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles or capable SxSs equipped with large off-road tires to navigate its rugged terrain. The trail snakes through a narrow canyon floor, where drivers are immediately confronted by large boulders and challenging waterfall ledges that require precise tire placement and excellent suspension articulation. With an elevation hovering between 1,712 and 1,791 feet, the short journey packs significant technical difficulty into its brief length, making it a concentrated test of driving skill.
Earning a technical rating of 7, approximately three-quarters of the route features formidable obstacles, culminating in a very steep descent upon exiting the canyon. This rocky and sandy surface requires aired-down tires and consistent throttle control, particularly when negotiating the steep drop-offs and off-camber sections. Offroaders should plan their visits during the cooler months of fall, winter, and spring, as summer temperatures in this desert region can become extreme. Located off the main 13-mile Logandale loop, the trail offers a thrilling detour with a minimal elevation gain of around 75 feet but maximum engagement, providing scenic desert vistas and a memorable rock-crawling experience.
