Trail Overview

13-Mile Loop is the main trail at the Logandale Trail System. Most of the trails in the area branch off of this main trail. It is a combination of dirt road with a few sandy sections that are suitable for stock 4x4 SUVs and pickups, as well as ATVs and Side by Sides. One rocky section will require a careful approach if you are in a stock vehicle, but it is easily passable. Traveling the loop, you will see fantastic red rock sandstone formations towering above you. Look for the sign that leads to the section with ancient petroglyphs etched into the sandstone formations.

This loop is a fun ride. Beware that the West loop has large washboards and woops. It's very slow going in a jeep. Even the side by sides are going slower due to the beating you're taking. The East part of the loop is sand and rock. There is one obstacle go get over when your doing the loop as you transition from the packed dirt trail to the rock and sand on the loop. If you want to avoid the washboard and just do and out and back to the petroglyphs take the East side loop after you leave the parking lot.

The East loop of the trail has a large washboard roads very bumpy. the West loop of the trail is mostly sand and there is one area that you'll have to navigate over but it's very doable and for low steady climb.

Very washboarded. It was tough to go faster than 5 mph in a very capable rig. Probably best for sxs, quads and bikes, not full size rigs.

Lots a razors around, we didn’t see many full size vehicles. It’s super washboarded out in quite a few spots.

Great trail for beginners. Just expect for a bit of a bumpy ride. Good trail either way.

Lots of sandy spots. There was a hill that had very deep sand and took me a couple attempts to get by it in my stock 4x4 pick up. There is a spot leading into a wash with a ledge, and I made it, but kissed the edge with my hitch. No damage. But, if you are in a stock 4x4, I might rank this one a little higher than a 3 when compared to other 3’s i’ve done. That said, maybe the best trail I’ve done in 2024. Beautiful!!!

I mostly enjoyed the trail. There were many sections where the trail was really uneven causing my vehicle to move side to side. SxS will have no issue. The last portion of this trail is all loose and deep sand and I got stuck a few times and also had trouble steering in that type of terrain on turns. My 4Runner made it out thanks to 4LO and ATRAC but it was a bit sketchy.
