Trail Overview

Breeze Tower (FS 3113) is a dirt and gravel Forest Service road within the Poplar Bluff Unit of Mark Twain National Forest. Starting from the County Road 415 heading north, passing an entry marked by large natural rocks poking out of the surface, before climbing slightly uphill to the point where it meets a fork with the FS 3113A, here the FS 3113 turns northwest (left), going down its first main hill, having mild erosion at a few small water runoffs of splash depth. The center portion of the track climbs up a small hill to a center ridge, then drops down a second main hill to the next water runoff creek, having splash depth as well. This leads to the final slightly eroded hill climb to the hook-shaped turnaround end point, being the MVUM-sanctioned end, where users must turn around and head back out the way they came.

Difficulty

Breeze Tower is given a 2/10 base rating for having a splash-depth water crossing in the valley, featuring natural rock poking out at the surface, coarse natural gravel, and loose 6-10" cobbles. The hills also feature mild erosion and rutting, with the water runoff sections of the valleys having small splash level water crossings. It is also safe to expect all the gravel road complications, such as potholes, washboarding, and mounding of the gravel. Difficulty can increase in times of wet conditions, rainy seasons, and through a lack of maintenance or heavy use.
