Trail Overview
The Godevske Trail starts off a main road and immediately puts you into a tight, wooded two-track with trees close on both sides. There aren't many opportunities to pass another vehicle at the beginning, so be prepared to take your time and share the trail when needed. You'll eventually reach an intersection with access to other areas and marked trail spurs, giving you the opportunity to explore beyond the main route.
As you continue, the trail gets even tighter in places, with trees growing close to the trail and branches hanging overhead. This is a trail where you need to pay attention to what's above, beside, and even on the trail itself. After storms, fallen trees and other debris could create additional obstacles, so conditions can change and you should be prepared for the possibility of having to navigate around or clear obstacles.
There are several spurs and connecting trails that can provide additional adventure, but make sure you check the forestry regulations and trail classifications before taking them. Not every trail in this area is intended for a full-width vehicle, so knowing which routes are legal and suitable for your vehicle is important.
As you get farther down Godevske, the trail becomes very tight, especially toward the end of the marked section. Turnaround opportunities are limited, so think carefully before continuing if you aren't comfortable committing to a narrow trail. Expect vegetation to brush against the vehicle, with branches and trees close overhead as well.
This is a good trail for drivers looking to take their adventure up a notch without necessarily needing extreme obstacles. The challenge here is the tight, confined nature of the trail and navigating around vegetation, rather than large rocks or steep climbs. If you don't mind getting a few scratches from the surrounding vegetation and enjoy a trail that requires careful attention, Godevske is definitely worth exploring—but take it slow and know what you're getting into before heading deep into the woods.
Difficulty
This trail is a little different, with not much rock, sand wash, or water crossing to contend with. The challenge here is tight clearance, as trees and vegetation crowd the road and low branches hang into the trail all along it.
