Trail Overview
Cranberry Lake Trail is accessed via Trail 113 and begins as a smooth, elevated gravel road with minimal corrugation. Despite passing through an area affected by fire, the drive remains scenic, with gentle climbs and descents as the route winds through recovering forest. As the trail progresses, conditions change significantly. After reaching a clearing, the surface becomes unmaintained and more challenging, with exposed roots, overhanging branches, and deep mud ruts that require four-wheel drive and high clearance. The trail narrows and grows increasingly overgrown, with muddy sections and standing water in some of the deeper pits. It eventually leads to another clearing that may be suitable for camping, though no formal sites exist. A secondary trail branches off at this point, offering further exploration for those equipped to handle rough conditions. The trail does not provide any services—there are no toilets, waste bins, or water sources—and cell reception may be limited or nonexistent.
