Trail Overview
FS 9507 is a bidirectional trail within the Manistee National Forest. Located off East Gale Road, this trail is easily accessible. Most of the trail is a combination of dirt, gravel, and sand. Starting from the east end, you'll be running a sandy/dirt track right alongside private property. Please be respectful of the local private landowners and stick to the trail. And as always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails! Quickly, the trail twists and turns and becomes more dense and rough. As you continue traversing, the forest becomes thick with a leaf-covered track. It can be hard to navigate, but please stick to the trail. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, & mud holes. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. After navigating the hard-to-find track on the north side, the trail makes a turn and heads back towards the road right along more private property. From here, there are a couple tight tree sections to work through. Nothing major, but something to be noted. The trail finishes back out at East Gale Road, west of where the route began, ready for your next adventure. This is not a difficult trail, but it is fun with great views of the dense forest that gives access to more recreation. Regardless of the conditions, this is a great trail for everyone!
