Trail Overview
FS 9503 is an out-and-back trail within the Manistee National Forest. Located off Loop Road, this trail is easily accessible. Most of the trail is a combination of dirt and sand. Starting out, the trail is a classic Michigan two-track with gorgeous views of red pine trees in the forest. As you continue, the trail transitions from a sandy/grassy two-track to more of a dirt and leaf-covered surface where the canopy of trees encompasses the trail all around. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, & mud holes. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. The end of this trail finishes with a turnaround loop, making it easy to navigate back out to the road. As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails!
