Trail Overview
FS 8541 is an easy bidirectional trail within the Manistee National Forest. Located just off FS 5037, this trail is easily accessible. Starting from the west end, you'll start on a dirt road with thick and lush vegetation edging the trail. This area has tons of pine trees that are just so beautiful! We were completely blown away by this trail and the magnificent beauty it gave off. You'll twist and turn along this route as you change back and forth in elevation. Be sure to take it all in. The forest and nature are the highlights of this trail, beyond the fact that it's a quick trail with so many others around to enjoy. Remember, please TREAD LIGHTLY so future generations can enjoy these public spaces. Like most of Michigan offroad trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, ruts, and washouts. Come Prepared! Most of this trail is 2 vehicles wide with several places to pass. This is not a difficult trail, but it does contain a lot of natural beauty. This trail also gives access to other great offroad trails nearby. The east end of the trail finishes back out at FS 5037. Regardless of the conditions or length of this trail, it's a cool route to check out! As always, again, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails!
