FS 5037

FS 5037 is an exciting and fun 1.3-mile trail within the Manistee National Forest. Located just north of East Hasenbank Road, this trail is easily accessible. Starting from the south end, you'll start in a thick section of the forest with lush vegetation edging the trail. This route crosses over some private property, so please be mindful and respectful of others. As you continue down the trail, you'll twist and turn as you change in elevation. Certain sections of this trail are also tighter than others, so be mindful of that and use caution. Be sure to take it all in, and TREAD LIGHTLY so future generations can enjoy these public spaces. It's extremely sad to see others using these incredible places as their personal trash disposal spots. So please TREAD LIGHTLY. The route passes by FS 8541, so if you haven't checked that out, be sure to do so. Use caution when navigating this track, as several side tracks end up at personal property. Stay on the trail! Like most of Michigan offroad trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come Prepared! Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it contains a lot of fun and beauty. This trail also gives access to other great trails nearby. The northern end of the trail finishes kind of abruptly and confusingly, so keep an eye on the trail map. Regardless of the conditions of this trail, it's a really fun route to check out!
