Trail Overview

Along the Kentucky Adventure Trail, there are 11 hard sections and this is the 3rd of those which follow along Bethel Church Rd. There are many creek crossings back and forth, and several areas where dispersed camping would be nice along the creek. There are several hard hills across rocks that are jagged and larger than a 24" climb. Some areas can be intensely muddy.

Difficulty

This trail has many obstacles, (one of my pics shows a jeep mired in mud that had burnt completely). Most of the trail is fairly straightforward, but even in drought conditions, I found myself winching through areas.

Stock TRD Pro Tacoma made it through without any body damage, Will i go back? Absolutely not, Why? Seems that every single sideXside found the trail and Absolutely rutted it out to the max. To do this trail without risking breaking crap, id highly recommend bringing more than yourself, 3in lift min, winch, 37s AT LEAST!!! And be ready to slip and slide into muddy rocks and trees. Im sure the trail was fun a few years ago for vehicles but like I said, side by sides have ruined it. This was my experience when it hasn't really rained in over a month, 33s and a 2in lift. Lots of bottoming out, rims are chewed out, rock guards was heavily used and abused. Lucky we made it out to be honest. wanted to take more footage but we was trying to beat the dark. You've been warned.

Lifted 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport with 33's and full skid plates (minus fuel tank, that was stressful...) with a winch. 3x GX470's with 33's, full skids, and each with a winch. 5/10 doesn't do this trail justice. Tiny tire gang, I 100% suggest skipping this unless you have a full protection, a winch, and a ton of time. This wasn't easy, especially going South to North. Finding our way out in the dark was rough too. It was obstacle after obstacle that required winching, spotting, and lots of a hopes and prayers. Made it out with just a few scratches. Also, avoid going to the right when you hit the creek heading north to the exit area around Kingston Tree Area. It's deep.... Long story short, plan ahead, bring food, water, all of your friends, all of your recovery gear, and a priest if you get torrential downpours like we did as this trail turned into purgatory FAST.

We're part of the Gambler 500 crew that likes to do more challenging stuff. We made it about 1/3 in before having to turn around. Lifted front wheel drives and some with street tires could not make it past with out a winch fest.

Trail is extremely rough i would recommend 37”+ tires and full armor and a winch, very deep ruts, huge rocks, and huge mud pits had to turn around 3/4 down the trail going from south to north

Ran this trail South to North. Expect lots of pinstripes! I'd rate it a solid 6 in terms of difficulty due to the size of the rocks in the trail combined with mud. It is very easy to lose track of the trail near where the creeks converge at the end of Tark Hill Road. Gaia sucks, On-x Sucks... We found Tark Hill Road behind the old abandoned house that still stands. The trail that ventures off to the north to follow clover bottom creek gets very narrow. impassible for any vehicle. Turning around yielded a broken CV axle for us, which snowballed quickly and nearly ruined a good trip.
