Trail Overview

Renfro Loop is a motorized trail loop in the London Ranger District of Daniel Boone National Forest, located near the S-Tree Campground area. Open to ATVs and singletrack motorcycles, this loop forms part of the local motorized trail network that connects with nearby Sheltowee Trace segments, allowing riders to build longer routes through the forested hills of southeastern Kentucky. The trail travels through dense hardwood forest typical of the Cumberland Plateau, providing a quiet backcountry ride that begins near highway access before circling through more remote sections of National Forest land. Riders often use the loop in combination with nearby motorized connectors to explore multiple trails within this portion of the Daniel Boone National Forest. As the route circles through the surrounding terrain, Renfro Loop follows the natural contours of the Appalachian landscape with sections that wind along ridges and descend into wooded hollows. Riders should expect uneven natural trail surfaces, moderate elevation changes, and narrow corridors common to forest OHV routes in the London Ranger District. The surrounding environment remains largely undeveloped, with limited infrastructure once riders leave the highway corridor and nearby campground areas. Because Renfro Loop is a designated motorized trail within Daniel Boone National Forest, all vehicles must remain on the marked route and comply with U.S. Forest Service Motor Vehicle Use Map regulations while navigating this interconnected section of the forest trail system.
