Trail Overview
This hill climb is fairly relaxed compared to others in the area, but it still has a few features to keep in mind. The trail is made of very loose dirt and sand, which can make traction a challenge, especially on the way up. Exposed tree roots create small steps along the incline, so careful tire placement is helpful to maintain momentum. The path itself is narrow and winds between trees, adding a bit of steering precision. While it isn’t overly steep, the soft surface and uneven footing can cause spinning tires if you’re not prepared.
Difficulty
This hill climb is moderately challenging due to its loose dirt and sandy surface, which can make traction tricky. The exposed tree roots sticking out of the ground add technical elements that require careful tire placement. While it isn’t extremely steep or hazardous, the combination of soft terrain and uneven footing makes it more than just an easy ride. Suitable for drivers with some experience, especially those comfortable managing momentum and traction on loose climbs.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
