Trail Overview
This trail features a short but demanding hill climb that becomes increasingly difficult as you descend toward a deep mud hole at the bottom. The hill itself may not be long, but it is steep and heavily eroded, with exposed tree roots forming ledges up to two feet tall in certain areas. These ledges require precise tire placement and adequate ground clearance to avoid getting hung up. At the top, the trail begins with a muddy stretch that can already compromise traction before tackling the descent. Although the track is fairly wide, the combination of steep grade, root ledges, and the deep mud waiting at the base makes this a challenging obstacle best suited for well-equipped rigs with recovery gear.
Difficulty
This hill is steep, with root-ledges up to two feet and a deep mud hole at the bottom, making it a serious challenge. Traction loss is likely, and proper clearance, lockers, and recovery gear are strongly recommended.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
