Trail Overview
This is a very short track, but it contains a serious obstacle that shouldn’t be underestimated. In the middle of the route lies a deep mud hole, and during mapping, even vehicles running 40-inch tires were unable to find the bottom. The depth and thickness of the mud can stop a rig almost instantly, making this more of a recovery challenge than a simple pass-through. Fortunately, the surrounding tree line offers solid anchor points for winching or self-recovery, which may be necessary if you sink to the axles on your vehicle. While the rest of the track is uneventful, this single hole makes it a high-risk route best suited for fully equipped vehicles and experienced drivers prepared for a potential extraction.
Difficulty
While the track is short, the deep mud hole makes it seriously challenging. Even 40-inch tires couldn’t reach bottom, making recovery highly likely. Nearby trees help with self recovery.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
