Trail Overview
This trail presents a moderate challenge with its combination of off-camber sections, rolling hills, and muddy terrain. In several areas, deep ruts cause the vehicle to lean toward nearby trees, requiring focused tire placement and steering control to avoid contact. The off-camber angles can be unsettling, especially when paired with slick mud that makes maintaining traction difficult. Although there are no large rock ledges or extreme climbs, the constant shifting of weight and traction demands careful driving. Progress can be slow, particularly after rain, as the mud thickens and becomes more unpredictable. Overall, it’s a technical trail that requires attention and a capable 4x4 with recovery gear on standby.
Difficulty
This trail is moderately challenging due to off-camber ruts, muddy terrain, and sections that lean you toward trees. While not extreme, it requires good traction, careful line choice, and driver awareness. Suitable for capable 4x4s with recovery gear.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
