Trail Overview
This trail serves as a key connector within the trail system, linking multiple other trails and leading directly to one of the main loops. It is well-traveled and easy to follow, making it a reliable path for navigating deeper into the trail network. In addition to providing access to major loops, it also branches off to Sandy Bottom Boulevard, which will take you to the sand bar for the Arkansas River with relative ease. Along the way, drivers will encounter a few mud holes, but each appears to have a solid bottom, posing minimal risk under normal conditions. With steady terrain and clear direction, this trail functions more as a thoroughfare than a challenge, making it ideal for transitioning between more technical areas.
Difficulty
This is an easy trail with only a few shallow mud holes that have solid bottoms. It’s well-traveled, straightforward, and ideal for reaching main loops or accessing the river. It is only one vehicle wide in spots. Suitable for all skill levels and stock 4x4 vehicles.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
