Tango Creek - FS 638

This trail starts as a wide, gravel road, then transitions to dirt-based. In the beginning, there are lots of parking areas and trails for snowmobiles. The trail starts gradually climbing over 1,400 feet, then it drops over 1,600 feet in elevation. There are switchbacks and ledges, some major rock garden that is bumpy, and ruts and wash up to a foot deep. When wet, this trail is very slick, so use caution on the descent. You will have dense forest views as well as views of surrounding ridges. The trail dead-ends onto West Side Priest Lake Road near the waterfront. Camping is allowed along this entire trail with several pre-existing dispersed campsites. Any vehicle type should be able to traverse this trail. Cell phone service is weak along the trail, and there are no amenities, so travel prepared. You are approximately 30 minutes from the nearest services and supplies on this trail.
