Trail Overview

Steep Creek is a dirt bike trail open to vehicles 40 inches or less. The west end starts off very wide, meandering through a flat forest floor, on smooth dirt, through a forest of hemlocks. Eventually it narrows up, turning into a true single track that is more exposed on the hillsides. It follows the edge of the hillsides with loose rock and dusty dirt, coming up to several steep and tight switchbacks that will be a challenge for less experienced riders, as they are on an exposed hillside in loose terrain. It continues zig-zagging down the hillside through several switchbacks, another of which has a large root across the trail. It passes the intersection with the trail Quartz View, then the last piece of trail is flat along the creek, and flowy out to a road. There is a small shoulder on the road on the east end of the trail, where one vehicle could park.
