Trail Overview

North Road is a two-and-a-half-mile winding point-to-point trail connecting the Oconee Star Trail to Anderson Bottoms Road. On the eastern end, it passes by a small fishing pond where fishing is allowed from March 15th through September 30th during daylight hours only. Piedmont NWR permit and Georgia state fishing licenses are required. The trail also has a shallow water crossing at Stalking Head Creek that can get deeper during rain events. Moderate clearance vehicles are recommended. The trail has sections of dense cultivated pine trees in the higher elevation sections and stands of hardwoods around the water crossing.
