Trail Overview

Nicholson Gap begins as the main trail out of the Satterfield Parking lot, it is a moderately steep but otherwise easy access trail to the rest of Beasley Knob OHV. The trail is mostly clay with a small section of rock and is maintained to be an exit from the park during wet conditions.

Great trail. A few intense spots that probably should bring rating a little higher. One sharp and heavily rutted spot was kind of sketch but we made it through.

Good entrance tell to get you ready for what's coming. Rated a 2/10 but I'd say it is a 3/10 due to some of the rocks and ledges you'll be climbing up going in. We really got excited right away when we saw the entrance trail alone. It turned out to be a great day!

Trail was slightly wet and it is very rutted out in certain areas. Had to winch a couple of spots where it was deeply rutted on an uphill climb. My LC is on 35s. For what it’s worth, The trail is tougher than the last time I visited which was in 2021. I did the same trail with a full size truck on 31s. Fun day but wasn’t planning on having to winch.
