Trail Overview

Five Points Road is an east-west county road traversing through the midsection of the Piedmont NWR. It is a well-maintained, packed clay surface, two lanes wide for easy travel. There are about a dozen side roads that have been gated off and are marked for foot travel only. These side roads provide foot access to a popular hunting area. The surrounding forest is populated primarily with loblolly and shortleaf pine, along with various oak and hickory species. The refuge is normally open during daylight hours but closed to everyone except permitted hunters during refuge firearm deer hunts in the fall.
