Trail Overview

5 Points Lake North Access road is a short, single-lane, wide, graveled roadway in the Piedmont NWR. It leads from Five Points Road down to Five Points Lake from the north side of the lake. It is one of two access roads to the lake, the other being the 5 Points Lake East Access. The road is well-maintained and smooth for a gravel road. It winds through mostly pine forest with moderate underbrush. The road ends about 200 yards short of Five Points Lake so travel by foot is required for direct lake access. 5 Points Lake North Access continues past the turnoff to the lake as a non-motorized foot access trail only. The refuge is normally open during daylight hours but closed to everyone except permitted hunters during refuge firearm deer hunts in the fall.
