Etowah River Access

Trail Overview

Trail access is located directly off Conns Creek Road. The entrance is not marked, and it is easy to miss the freshly graveled access point if you are not paying close attention. The trailhead includes a porta-potty before entering and proceeding down the trail. The trail itself is relatively short and mostly gravel, with a few small mud holes, but nothing significant. It leads to a scenic view of the Etowah River. The trail ends at a turnaround area that can become extremely muddy at times. Once you reach this point, you can park and walk back to access the river. During the summer months, swimming is possible in this area, and kayaks can also be launched from this location. It is a great spot with surrounding hiking trails and nearby areas suitable for camping. Please note: Do not drive beyond the posted point toward the river. Vehicle access is prohibited past this area. Overall, driving the trail to the turnaround and back takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. While the drive itself is short, the walk back to the river is well worth it. A valid fishing license or game pass is required to access the trail.
