Trail Overview
The Warm Springs Trail is a short and easy trail that connects the Doubletop Walrod and Waterfall Spur Trails down to Cement Creek Road. The Crested Butte Trail Riders Association requests that motorcyclists ride this trail downhill only (west to east), but this is not a requirement by the Forest Service, just a courtesy requested by the local riding groups to maintain respectful interactions with the many mountain bikers that ride this trail. Thus, dirt bikers can plan to take this trail to end their ride and return to Cement Creek Road, rather than start their ride. The trail is a fast and flowy descent, dropping about 450 feet in elevation over .7 miles. It’s somewhat steep, but is smooth dirt with banked corners, approachable for less experienced riders. It’s a scenic ride through aspen groves, overlooking Horse Basin, and is gorgeous in fall when the colors are changing. It descends through several sweeping hairpin turns, but is free of any major obstacles.
