Sterry Lake Road - FS 240

This trail climbs over the mountain with 8–10-inch ruts that increase to 12–16 inches, along with mud holes and rocky terrain. Conditions can become extremely difficult when wet. 4WD is required. Near the end, a large, level campsite fits up to six vehicles with views of the valleys, wildflowers, trees, and Sterry Lake. The trail ends at a 62-inch width restriction, where FS 2240 continues toward Sterry Lake for narrower vehicles. Overall, this is a short but scenic trail with challenging climbs, deep ruts, and beautiful aspen views.
