Trail Overview

This trail climbs into the mountains on mostly dirt that becomes extremely sticky when wet. It begins with 14–16-inch ruts and numerous mud holes, with 6–8-inch rocks scattered throughout the route. Good all-terrain tires are recommended. At 1.1 miles, there is a scenic viewpoint overlooking the forest and aspens. The trail ends at a level, shaded campsite for up to three vehicles, protected by surrounding trees. Not van- or camper-friendly. 4WD or AWD is recommended.

Difficulty

This trail has 14–16-inch ruts, frequent mud holes, and extensive 6–8-inch rocks. The combination of rocky terrain and wet-weather conditions requires a capable vehicle and careful driving, but there are no highly technical obstacles.
