Trail Overview
This trail begins off Bull Mountain Road and, like the surrounding state park trails, requires a state park pass. The trail is a scenic one-lane route climbing over the mountains with views of aspens, valleys, and the lake. The surface is mostly dirt with small rocks up to 1 inch and ruts ranging from 12–14 inches. This trail requires at least 16 inches of clearance, with 4WD or AWD highly recommended. A mapped road connection near the end is closed and no longer accessible. Overall, this is a fun and scenic trail with challenging sections and incredible views throughout.
Difficulty
This trail has deep 12–14-inch ruts, narrow one-lane sections, and uneven mountain terrain. The combination of limited width, clearance requirements, and changing traction conditions requires careful driving. High clearance and 4WD or AWD are recommended for the more challenging sections.
