Trail Overview
Trail 734 is a moderately easy ATV trail in the North Divide OHV system. The west end starts at an intersection with 732, and it goes east on a wide two-track through scenic aspen groves. The trail is mostly dirt and pea gravel, flowing over rolling hills with short climbs and descents. It cuts across the hillsides and goes through grassy meadows. The terrain is pretty dry and open, so even though this area will see higher traffic in the summer, you get good visibility in the trees to see oncoming traffic. As it crosses Sportsman Road (FS 897), there are a couple of shorter climbs that are a bit rockier, with small loose rocks on loose dirt, and this section is marked as Most Difficult on the Forest Service signs. These sections are really not overly difficult, but they are some of the rockier sections in this part of the trail system, since most of the trails are super flowy and smooth. However, it is slightly more difficult than nearby trails 733 and 732. It has a few tighter turns on a steeper grade in this section as well, plus a few narrow sections as the trail is cut into a shelf along the hillside. The rest of the trail is pretty flowy and easy, before ending at a small parking area on Cedar Mountain Road.
Difficulty
This is a moderately easy trail because it doesn’t have any major ledges or obstacles, but it does have a few steeper climbs with loose rock, as well as a few narrow sections on the hillsides. Most of the trail is flowy and easy.
