Trail Overview

Pony Creek Road is a hard-packed dirt road with several deeply rutted sections. There is also an off-camber, sandy section that requires careful maneuvering to avoid downed trees. Because this route passes through a burn scar, washouts and fallen trees are common, especially after storms. High-clearance 4x4 vehicles are recommended. Along the way, you'll enjoy beautiful views of Buffalo Peak and South Park Valley. Keep in mind that this area is subject to a seasonal closure.
