Trail Overview
This trail begins directly off Highway 127 and connects to several National Forest trails. A parking area near the entrance can accommodate up to 10 vehicles.
The trail starts with a fine dirt surface and 3–5-inch ruts. Please be respectful of nearby private homes and remain on the designated route. Around 0.5 miles in, trees and brush become closer to the trail, creating a possibility of pinstriping as you climb through dense aspens and forest.
Around 2.3 miles in, the trail follows a cliffside with incredible views of the mountain valley. The road is narrow in sections, so use caution when passing oncoming vehicles.
The first section of the trail offers several excellent campsites that can accommodate 4–8 vehicles with campers or trailers.
Overall, this is a scenic and easy trail that provides beautiful forest views, access to nearby trails, great camping opportunities, and mountain viewpoints.
Difficulty
This trail earns a Rating 2 due to its mostly smooth dirt surface with minor 3–5-inch ruts and a few narrow sections. Dense vegetation may cause pinstriping, and the cliffside portion requires attentive driving, but there are no significant obstacles or technical challenges.
