Trail Overview

Enjoy this simple trail that leads to some pretty camp spots. If you're lucky, you might even be able to see a moose! Most vehicles can do this road, although it does have some spots that might rub a lower clearance vehicle. This is a common area for people living the van life to stay, so it can be very busy, especially on the weekend.

Early-season conditions. Trail is mostly dry dirt and gravel with exposed rock. Intermittent patches of snow and ice present, mainly in shaded areas and low spots. Light snowfall observed with near-freezing temperatures, creating slick sections at times. Trail is passable with high-clearance AWD/4WD; drive slowly and expect conditions to change with weather and temperature.

Easy fun trail, don’t underestimate the end though! No need to go all the way to the end, nothing there, but if you do you will have to back your way out and make a however many point turn to go back, so be cautious of that.

The trail starts of nice and easy and very scenic with wildflowers in abundance. Soon the road starts to show shallow dips and holes while going up and down hills. There are numerous dispersed camping sites. I saw a few campers.Youll spot some boxes left by someone, 2 abandoned campers that have been trashed and vandalized with a cooler sticking half way out of the shut screen door. there was a rolled up sleeping bag laying out in front of it. The second popup camper had all of its netting ripped. Not too far from the trashed campers is an abandoned camp. There was a tent made out of a cheap blue tarp and a half bottle of oil near the campfire pit. No cars or sign of anyone being there. Overall, I agree its a good scenic, beginner trail to learn to get comfortable driving off road. I probably wouldnt camp here though.

I can see that this trail would be very easy during the warmer months. But during the winter there are spots where there is packed snow and some mud. You need to be careful. Very beautiful scenery, the back drop of the snowy mountain was incredible.
