Trail Overview

Nellie Creek Road is a rough and extremely narrow road normally used to access the Uncompahgre Peak Trailhead. There are numerous waterfalls and creek crossings. There are a few dispersed camping sites suitable for tent or car camping, but not larger setups. A pit toilet is available at both the beginning and end of the road. It can be extremely busy with less capable vehicles during the 14'er climbing season.

Difficulty

Numerous creek crossings, very narrow for larger vehicles, and numerous tight corners on this trail. Be aware there are several mud slide areas and this road is frequently blocked. If it rains, you could easily get trapped up the canyon with one very large rock ready to fall.

The trail is very rocky will need ground Clearance a must or you will drag. seen some Suvs at top of trail. Stock 2016 Jeep Wrangler will not have a problem. Scenic View at top plus a 3.5 mile walk to top 14000 feet. If your Game. not I
